Frequently Asked Questions for Healthcare Spending Accounts and Vision Plans
What if I have Vision coverage and you are not on the list?
Dr. Warren Johnson sees many patients that want to come to our office but don’t have their vision benefit with us. That means in many cases that we are an out of network provider. Usually you can come to our office for vision care and eyewear and receive a partial reimbursement from your vision plan. If we are not on your vision plan we will provide a 15% courtesy on services to help you should you want to use our services out of your insurance network. You can still submit your claim to your benefits department for an additional reimbursement to you from your plan in addition to the 15% courtesy we will extend to you. You would pay us for our exam services and materials. We will give you our walkout statement and codes which will allow your benefits department and vision care plan to determine how much they would reimburse you for our services. It is still advised that you check this out in advance of using our services.
If I have a Medical Savings Plan or a Health Savings Plan may I use that for eyecare and/or eyewear at your office?
Of course and the benefit of that is that you are using pre-tax dollars for your exam services and any glasses or sunglasses that you need.
